ABINGTON TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT FEATURED JUNE 26TH ON “FIREHOUSE FRIDAYS” SEGMENT OF FOX 29’S “GOOD DAY PHILADELPHIA” MORNING SHOW
ABINGTON – Jamie Shupack of Fox 29 spent the early morning hours of June 26th with the Abington Township Fire Department (ATFD) as part of the “Firehouse Fridays” segment of the station’s “Good Day Philadelphia” morning show.
In between traffic reports, Ms. Shupack interviewed various members of the ATFD’s five fire companies and had the opportunity to ride in a ladder truck, sit in the ATFD’s antique Ahrens Fox fire engine, and learn about the many ways in which the ATFD serves the Abington community. The visit also gave Ms. Shupack the chance to reconnect with her roots, as she is an Abington Senior High School graduate.
More than 60 ATFD members and their families participated in the June 26th event, which was broadcast live from Abington Fire Company’s parking lot and station. The show was later broadcast in August on the township’s Channel 43 and Channel 24.
